What we do

Six services, one crew

Ark Tree Service handles the whole life of a tree: taking one down safely, keeping one healthy, and clearing away what is left behind.

Tree removal

Whole trees taken down, including the ones that have no room to fall. Dismantled from the top and lowered on rope.

Tree trimming and pruning

Deadwood taken out, crowns thinned, and growth cut back off roofs, driveways and service lines.

Stump grinding

Stumps and surface roots ground out below grade, so you can seed or plant right over them.

Storm and hazard trees

Wind damage, split leaders, and dead or insect-killed trees removed before they fail on their own.

Shaping and shrub pruning

Ornamentals and shrubs cut back into shape without taking the life out of them.

Brush chipping and haul away

Brush run through the chipper on site, and the wood cut into rounds or hauled away.

Our specialty

The cuts other crews turn down

Some trees cannot simply be cut and dropped. They are wedged between a house and a garage, hanging over a neighbor’s fence, or standing dead beside a service line. Those trees get taken apart from the top down, piece by piece, on rope. That is the work this crew is built around.

  • Top-down dismantling over roofs, decks and fences
  • Rigging and lowering limbs into tight drop zones
  • Dead, hollow and brittle trees that are no longer safe to climb the usual way
  • Clearance pruning back from buildings and service lines

What changes the price of a tree job

There is no flat rate for taking a tree down. Two oaks of the same height on the same street can differ by hundreds of dollars, and it comes down to five things.

Size
Measured as diameter at breast height. A 36 inch oak is not twice the work of an 18 inch one. It is far more.
Drop zone
Whether limbs can drop into open lawn, or have to be roped and lowered piece by piece.
Access
Whether the chipper and grinder can reach the tree, or everything has to come out through a gate by hand.
Condition
Dead, split and storm-damaged wood is unpredictable, and it slows the whole job down.
Cleanup
Chip on site, haul it all away, or leave the rounds stacked for firewood.

Every quote is done in person, at the tree. Call and we will come out and look at it.

Storm damage is the exception. If something is down or hanging, call and we will work out when we can get to it.

What helps us quote faster

  • Roughly how tall the tree is compared to the house
  • How close it is to a building, fence or driveway
  • Whether it is dead, leaning, or has limbs down already
  • Whether a chipper can get to it, and the narrowest gate width
  • A photo of the whole tree from a few steps back

Hazards get looked at first. If something is hanging over a roof or a driveway, say so when you call.
